Accountant

The Mid-West Group of Companies is seeking an accountant with a high degree of technical proficiency to help lead the accounting function for our group of companies, which includes over 50 entities. The position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and provides an opportunity for an energetic individual to be involved in a fast-paced, diverse work atmosphere for an evolving company.

The Accountant will be involved in the following aspects of the Mid-West Group’s companies:

  1. preparation of financial statements;
  2. leading specific projects of moderate size and complexity;
  3. collecting and analyzing data and making recommendations; and
  4. compliance and corporate governance.

The Ideal Candidate We are seeking a mature and career-oriented person who is looking for a long-term position with an established company, and possesses the following traits:

  1. 5+ years of relevant experience or education;
  2. excellent organizational skills;
  3. a desire to perform a wide array of accounting tasks;
  4. is loyal and has a strong work ethic;
  5. is self-motivated and works well independently;
  6. is comfortable making decisions; and
  7. enjoys a dynamic, fast–paced and ever-evolving office environment.

The successful applicant will assist in the day-to-day business utilizing their skills in sales, communication and leadership.
